Details

Enjoy seven days in Italy, matching sea and good food in the best gay-friendly Italian cities. Check the details about the tour.

We are taking you through one of the greatest food-culture-leisure experiences in Italy. You will travel by high-speed trains and slow down on the railway trail of the ‘Cinque Terre’.

From pesto sauce to blue fish; from street food to cooking classes, to vineyard tours and wine tastings. In only seven days, you will go back home with new recipes for Italian cooks and sommeliers.

A true taste of the Mediterranean Diet: you will also improve your knowledge of how to buy good quality food and how to prepare typical Mediterranean dishes.

On our shared street tours, you will be able to mix culture and cuisine and understand the real sense of place, as only locals can do.

Itinerary

Guided food and wine tour in the ‘carrugi’ (narrow streets of Genoa): visit of typical ‘botteghe’ (food shops), try some focaccia and pesto. (Genoa is a great historical town, the first port of Italy, fully of astonishing noble palaces and mansions ‘The Superb, for its men and its walls’, Genoa was called during the Renaissance). Its ‘Pesto sauce’, ‘Focaccia’ and ‘Pansotti’ are main Mediterranean dishes) Dinner in one of our recommended typical trattorias

Catch the train to Recco, to taste the fabulous ‘Cheese Focaccia’. Then, transfer to Sestri Levante and Portofino: cooking class and aperitive on the seaside. The afternoon reveals the beauty of Portofino: a walk to the ‘Faro’ (lighthouse) and then catch the train to Bonassola, the ‘door’ to the ‘Cinque Terre’.
Accommodation in Bonassola for 2 nights: enjoy the astonishing beauty of clear waters, the hamlets and landscapes of Monterosso, Corniglia, Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore (Cinque Terre).

Free day: you can catch the train from Bonassola to visit each of the ‘Cinque Terre’ and stop to try the local cuisine in one of the several trattorias along the way. Take a walk on the ‘Passeggiata dell’Amore’ ‘The Love Trail’ within the National Park, which winds along the rocks overlooking the sea.

In the afternoon, catch the train to Florence.

One is dedicated to cheese and red meat (salami, sausages, hams) and the second one is dedicated to Tuscan wine. These two will be shared walking tours with English speaking foodies who will lead you, for three hours, along the food history of Florence. You will sit into local ‘osterias’ to taste the local specialties.

You have a day off in Florence. We can arrange a guided tour for you, with entrances to several historical palaces and museums (Uffizi, Accademia, Bargello). Or, if you prefer, you can stroll around on your own, buy beautiful leather products or visit the Ponte Vecchio Jewelries.
Late afternoon: Catch the train to Naples
Accommodation in Naples, 4-star hotel, 2 nights

You are in the capital of pizza, of babàs, of fried bluefish! Here, a street food tour is the only way to really appreciate the Neapolitan cooking tradition. You will enjoy a three-hour street food &wine tour, which will introduce you also to the beauty of this royal city. Moving around in Naples is a great discovery of cultural essence: Piazza del Plebiscito, Chiaja promenade along the sea, the fortress of Maschio Angioino and the Vesuvius, dominating the bay.

Private transfer to Amalfi, where you meet our guide for a mozzarella class and a wine tour . Alternatively, the Pizza class in Furore, where you will discover the secrets of a true original pizza. Time to enjoy Amalfi and its views.

Back to Naples.

My husband and I booked the tour of the “Vatican in a gay light” for one morning during our trip to Rome. Our guide, Dario, was very knowledgeable of the historical significe of the art works as well as many of the anecdotes that provided context. We learned a great deal and truly enjoyed ourselves. This tour is too notch! Thank you.

Excellent pre-cruise Quiiky tour in Venice. Great guide who had so much intimate knowledge of Venice. Besides being very handsome he is a local resident for more than 2 decades with so much intimate knowledge that you can’t get from a guidebook. This is my second time using Quiiky for tours and transfers; they’re my first choice in Italy!

First I would like to thank you and your company and all involved for a wonderful trip. From beginning to end we continued to be amazed by all the wonder service we received from all of you. We had a fabulous time for our anniversary. All the guides were great and all better than we expected. It is hard to pick a best as they were all awesome, that being said, three stand out for being most personable and had a excellent sense of how to move us along our tours. Quiiky gets 5 out of 5 for all other ratings. Yes, we would positively reccommend for anyone considering travel to Italy. AND, Giovanna, you’re the best.

We adored our Quikky tour of the Vatican with our guide Claudio. We had been a little apprehensive about visiting the Vatican but this tour is the way to go! Claudio had an expert knowledge of the art collection and we enjoyed hearing the "other", more scandalous stories of the private lives of Michelangelo and the popes. We loved our visit to the museums, Sistine Chapel, grotto and St Peters - I recommend joining the queue and adding on the view from the dome of the basilica - well worth the stairs!

Thanks for a great alternative tour of the Vatican. Having visited back in 1999 I wanted something a little different to do with my husband who had never visited before. It is great to see Quiiky offering tours with a twist and can most definitely recommend this one for your next visit to Rome.

First had a wonderful pre-cruise Quikky tour in Venice. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and a great deal of fun. Then I went on a tour of the Vatican and our tour guide was incredible. He is an expert on the Vatican and on the pertinent gay history (which turns out to be much more than you might even think). He literally made the Vatican come alive and provided one of the more fascinating tours I have taken anywhere. And the two wonderful owners of Quiiky picked us up and took us on a vehicular tour of Rome. Others got back from Rome complaining of the crowds and the heat... we got back energized, happy, and filled with fascinating information after an afternoon filled with fun and personalized care. Don't make the mistake thinking you will get an equivalent tour from a straight guide/company -- if you are gay, Quiiky is the way to go.

It was easy to schedule our tour. Everything was explained in great detail, so there was no confusion on the day of the excursion. The vans were spotless and comfortable. Our guide for the Colosseum was exceptional in every way. He was cute, knowledgeable, witty, flexible and engaging. We met so wonderful folks and shared a wonderful lunch with the guys from our group. Could not have been happier with Quiiky.
