This morning you’ll visit the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, home to extraordinary frescoes, statues, and mosaics excavated from Pompeii and other ancient sites. The collection also includes important homoerotic artworks, such as the statue group of Harmodios and Aristogeiton, the celebrated pair associated with the origins of Athenian democracy. You will also visit the famous Gabinetto Segreto (Secret Cabinet), a unique collection of erotic art that—until the 1960s—was reserved only for “people of mature age and respectable morals.”

The tour continues with a visit to San Giovanni Maggiore, a church built over the remains of an ancient pagan temple, believed by some sources to be connected to Emperor Hadrian and the memory of Antinous. In the evening, enjoy a true Neapolitan classic: pizza. We suggest one of the city’s most famous pizzerias, such as Sorbillo, where tradition is still alive in every bite. As you may know, pizza was born right here in Naples, and the dish became widely known under its modern name starting from the 19th century, even though its origins are much older.

For nightlife, Naples’ LGBTQ+ scene often gathers around Piazza Bellini, a favorite hangout for locals and visitors alike. Two popular venues are FREEiD (Vico San Geronimo) and Ghetto Crime Bar (Via Giuseppe Ferrigni).

Start with a guided tour of Catania, including:

In the afternoon, head to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Walk through forests, ancient craters, and striking lava formations shaped by centuries of eruptions.
